Adult & Community Education School, also known as ACE, is the largest provider of adult education programs in Leon County. We offer GED® classes as a way to earn a high school diploma, English classes for speakers of other languages and high school credit classes to high school students and adults who need to improve a grade or earn class credits needed to graduate.
ACE serves more than a thousand students each year from Leon and surrounding counties. All of our programs support our mission of providing educational opportunities that enable adult learners (16 and older) to become responsible, independent contributors in the community in which they live and work.
Our school motto reflects our goal to be: A Great Start for a Better Future!
Regina Browning became the director of the Adult & Community Education School in July 2013, and she has been providing opportunities and innovative solutions to the challenges students face ever since. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. She is certified in political science, social science, and as a school principal. Ms. Browning brings experience at all levels of public education to her job, from elementary and high school to adult education. She began her career in education as a social science teacher in Gadsden County. After eight years of teaching, she served as an assistant principal for nine years. She was principal at Bond Elementary before coming to ACE. Ms. Browning oversees the school's GED, English-ESOL, Adult High School, and High School Credit Recovery programs. Ms. Browning enjoys working with the best teachers and administrators at ACE and Leon County, whose primary interest is the students they serve. Her staff elected her as the Glenn Howell Distinguished Educator of the Year for 2019-20. She is known for saying: "Good, better, best. Never let it rest, 'til your good is better and your better is best." She is a native of Havana, FL, and the youngest of ten siblings. Ms. Browning loves to travel and spend time with family and friends. When she's not rooting for her favorite team, the FAMU Rattlers, she is serving the community with her sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc.
